Paradises for Indian Elephant- Bandipur National Park


Bandipur national park is situated at Chamarajnagar district in the Karnataka state of India. Bandipur national park covers 865 square kilometres area, and it was established National Park in the 1974. Bandipur national park is a renowned tiger reserve park in the India.
The Bandipur national park is well known for its population of the tigers and Indian elephants. Bandipur tiger reserve house of the about 70 tigers, above 300 Asian Elephants. This park is full of the fauna and flora. Bandipur nearest attraction are Nagarhole national park, Mudumalai national park and wynad wildlife sanctuary. This park is a part of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve.
UNESCO World Heritage team is making a plan the area covering Bandipur Wildlife sanctuary and Niligiri Sub Cluster, Western Ghats, into World Heritage Site.

Bandipur wildlife sanctuary has rich different species of the plants. Sandalwood tree are the main tree of the Bandipur National Park. There are finding rare species of the trees. In this national park trees are include Rosewood, Teak, Indigoberry, Satinwood, Axlewood, boom, Indian gooseberry, Flame Black Myrobalan etc. These plants have irrigation by the Moyar River


Fauna in the Bandipur National Park
The Bandipur National Park has rich various species of the fauna. There are also find popular species of the animals like elephant, hyena, leopard, Indian porcupine, sambhar, chevrotain, sloth bear, chital, mouse deer, gaur, wild pig, four horned antelope, black naped hare, jackal, wild boar, Malabar squirrel, panther, porcupines,  jungle bull, barking deer, and much more.
The major types of the birds in this wildlife are like ducks, peacock, parrot, hen, swan, jungle fowl, herons, red spur fowl, serpent eagle, hornbills etc.

Bandipur is a finest destination in the India. This reserve is a paradise for tourists and travels from April to October. During summer season, the backwaters of Kabini Reservoir offer the greatest chance for the visitors to see large mammals, particularly the gaur and the elephant.

By Air Bangalore is a nearest airport, which is 225 Kilometres from Bandipur reserve
By Train Nearest railway station is at Mysore, which is 80 KM from Bandipur park
 By Road Bandipur is well connected by road. There are available frequently bus services. This park at a distance 225 KM from Bangalore, 75 KM from Ooty and 80 KM from Mysore.
