According Newest Survey--India Forests Cover has Declined Area

India’s forests cover (area) has lost about 368 square kilometers between 2007 and 2009.  However this data may not appear as alarming because India has increased in the terms of national parks, wildlife sanctuaries and fauna and flora during this period, it is said by many organizations of forest’s protection and a forestation. These organizations give many examples are like our country has increased about 295 tigers between 2007 and 2010.

The Dehradun report of 2011 based on forest survey of the India; it has been submitted to ministry of forests and environment. This report will be released soon, said by ministry of forests and environment on the 7th January 2011. India has got seventh rank in the world in terms of area; however it has got first rank in terms of wildlife, thus India wildlife tour is very fantabulous and memorable in the globe.

The news for wildlife lovers and forest societies are not hopeful.  Central government has been continuously claiming the rising of the forest areas, although there has been no change in the forest areas.
Maximum 190 square kilometers forest areas have declined from insurgency hit state of Manipur. The second position in this term has been taken by Nagaland. Nagaland has reduced 146 sq km between 2006 and 2009. Meghalaya, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh are included in this topic, according to the Dehradun report. Although good news is get from Rajasthan, Punjab, Tamilnadu and Jharkhand.

In the 2009, report of FSI showed forest areas in northeast had improved from 1,69,825 square kilometers in the 2005 to 1,70,423 square kilometers in the2007- a yearly increase of 299 sq KM and 598 sq KM increase in the two years (between 2005 and 2007). Disastrously, we have lost this increase between 2007 and 2009; it is clear by Dehradun report 2011. Sharp change in the forest areas, the main reasons are Jhum cultivation, said by retired forest officer. Jhum cultivation is doing by the local people and tribal on the forests region.  There are other threats of union of the wood smugglers and mafia. Indian forests and fauna and flora (wildlife) mainly throw away by the poachers, wood smugglers dereliction by governments and Indian people.
Although 100 square kilometers forests areas have increased in the Punjab state of India because they are pushing cultivation and forestry activities by the Punjab government. This data is provided by new survey of FSI. FSI report said that while slight rise in the Haryana, here about 14 square kilometers forest cover increased and 11 square kilometers increase in the Himachal Pradesh. We are hoping forests area will be more in Haryana in the next FSI report in 2013 because we get the positive impact of the Supreme Court ban on the mining in Aravallis.

Threats to the Tigers
Tigers are one of the most gravely rare species of the cat families whose future is insecure. India’s national animals of the tigers but are frequently killed by poachers and illicit mafia. Tigers are the majestic of the cat family, powerful, shy and solitary animals. India’s forest has full of the tigers at time of independence and this time an about 40,000 tigers roamed in India. The number at the present in the forests is just only for 1000 tigers. Tigers are highly adaptable animal and it makes their survival in the antagonistic conditions.

In the India are threats to the tigers and are following reasons for it is extinctions.

Habitat loss:
India is the continuous decline tiger’s populations because there is continuous loss of the forest areas.
Poaching:
In the Indian tiger reserves are going on an uncontrolled for tigers poaching. There are regular tigers killed because its skin, penis, bones are selling in the international market. One tiger is about the sale on US $50,000 in the central Asia market.
Callousness of people
Indian society has been changing because there are soaring population, so people are struggling for food and land. Other reason people are grading and killed tigers and other animals in the Sunderbans.
Government apathy

According to Census 2011, Population of Tigers increase first time in a decade- in the India

It is estimated that around half wild tigers of the globe are in India, thus the news that tiger’s number there have increased gives us the hope for the future of tigers in our country.

The numbers of tiger in the India has gone up by 21%, according to the newest census of the tigers, which has surveyed complete of our country for the first time. According to tiger’s census 2007, there were 1,411 tigrs in the India, but according to newest tiger’s census 1,706 tigers are living in India. There are about 40 selected tiger reserves; those have keep above 27,961 miles of forest area (45,000 square kilometres).  Pench National Park is most renowned in India and global.

Even after that Environment and forest Minister of India Jai Ram Ramesh is describing the shrinking of the corridors for tigers as an alarming. He told, we want increasing in forest area and protecting for tigers and other wildlife in India. Experts of wildlife say the protection of these corridors (forest area) should be a main concern for the Indian Government and State governments.

In India, several tigers continue to be killed by hunters or die as effect of the pressure on their natural dwelling from the speedily growing population of the human or loss environmental caused by the lack of the booming economy and governance. Thus many experts agree to this line “India has lost about 97% of tigers by shrinking habitats and poaching.

India had remained 40,000 tigers in the past century but in this century has been a serious decline in the numbers since then. Now, about 3500 tigers remain in the world but India keep above half of them numbers.
I good feel tell you about of the newest census figures because it is very good news for Indian tigers and wildlife. The main advantages of the newest census were that it covered the full tiger reserves of India.
In the census included some difficult tigers reserve such as Pench Tiger reserve and mangrove forest of the Sunderbans in the west Bengal. Sunderbans gives 70 tigers and about 25 tigers give by Pench National Park in this census.

Correspondents and wildlife experts say’s that tiger killing is a well-paid business. It is so critical for tigers to protect them in India. There is a vast demand of tiger claws, bones, and skin in countries such as China, Korea and Taiwan. They use them in traditional Medicines.

Today, Tigers are found in these countries India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, China, Cambodia, Nepal, Laos, Indonesia, Myanmar (Burma), Russia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand.

Gir National Park- a Breeding and Life Preservation places for Asiatic Lions in India

To pressurize the proposed 2nd dwelling for Asiatic Lions, being get up at Kuno Palpur Sanctuary in Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh, Central
Minister of state for Environment and Forest, Jairam Ramesh on Tuesday once again advocated that Gujarat should part its lions with Madhya Pradesh.

On Tuesday Minister Jairam Ramesh saw Sasangir sanctuary in Junagarh district of Gujarat, most famous for only residence of Asiatic Lions.

The Union Minister said that he was hopeful that the Narendra Modi Government would accept the proposal for shifting few lions to Madhya Pradesh.

The central minister of Environment and Forest said that I believe there should be second dwelling for Asiatic lions in the Madhya Pradesh. Thus we are talking with Madhya Pradesh Government for last so many years.

However, the main plan to change (relocations) the dwelling of Asiatic Lion from the Gir National Park to any other park in India was planed by Wildlife Research Institution Dehradun, in the 1980. Gir Park covered total area 1400 square Kilometres, which is too small for carnivore species of Asiatic lions because Gir has got the large number of Lions (about 400) in the park. The other reasons for changing the dwelling of Asiatic lion are like spread influence disease and other diseases or natural calamity such as had happened in Africa previously. It is a fear in the forest department and in the minds of lovers of Asiatic lions. So we wanted the second habitat for Asiatic lions.

After the extensive surveys, they selected Kuno Palpur wildlife sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh for relocation and breeding project of Asiatic lions from Gir wildlife sanctuary. This project was started with the help of central government worth RS. 64crore. I feel very sad to tell you that we have done very hard work although this project has failed by some reasons.

It is said by Dr. Sandeep Kumar head of the WTI’s National Elephants Corridor Project.

The land was protected by WTI and Forest Department, after Forest Department started project to the free movements of the elephants by filling up of elephants within corridors. This project has been partially completed; hence it is very bad to elephants of India and wildlife lovers. Before this, the corridor soil was used for farming but now this land is using for native species, which encourages of the elephants and there are reforestation.  This corridor offers a safe way for above two thousand elephants among other wild animals in this soil.

Several natural balances have previously been the stressed by rising population, recent deforestation and historical, unsustainable executive practices and even persistent species. It report given by Eduardo Rojas, general assistant director at the forestry department of FAO.

The main affected regions are like isolated island, mountains and coastal regions, which bound the possibilities for birds and animals to migrate somewhere else and make new habitats. The remaining population become covered in very small ecological system, they have problems of inbreeding and at last these species may vanish.

Flora and Fauna (wildlife) relocation may also guide to struggle with the humans as occurred with the gorillas in Rwanda and tigers in Bangladesh, said by Rojas Briales. Poaching and India’s battle to save tiger

The international tiger summit begun in the St. Petersburg some days ago, a group of jungle guards in northern India, in Kaziranga Park, Assam, sent unmistakable  note to bigwigs debating by them, how to protect the biggest species of cat family.

Bengal Tigers are very fantastic and beautiful animal in the world. Four poachers came in Kaziranga national park on November 15; the park wardens closed in, group of the guards came there. The killers of rhino and tiger opened the fire and the groups of rangers fired back. Two poachers killed by them and others fled in to the big grass. Park ranger didn’t sprint away. They shout back.

Administrator of Kaziranga Park said that it is a common thing. The seven poachers have been killed and there have been lots of encounters.

“If you are a forest guard in inside Indian jungle or any India’s other park and you have a license of a gun and they allow you to carry it inside the park for safety, if you fire by that gun and kill a poacher, you will be arrested for murder,” Wright said.

Poaching Methods

Poison: poachers place poison in the dead bodies of domestic cows and buffaloes. During the dry and hot months, small jungle pools are also poisoned by poachers. There is a complicated and good organized supply rout operated by major traders, to dispense poison and collect tiger skeleton from the outmost villages.
Steel Traps: Nomadic blacksmiths make steel traps. These traps are very strong. Near Raipur in 1994 in a tiger poaching case, it took six men to open a trap. In one area of central India, the rural people are fearful of going into the jungle because many steel traps had been set there. People have received frightful injuries from these traps.

Firearms: firearms are used where hunt can be carried with little difficult. These days’ tiger poaching occurs in many areas where large numbers of tigers have recorded. Particularly poaching is in the state of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Uttrakhand, Assam and Rajasthan.

Wildlife protection society of India said that India’s tiger reserves have lost 51 tigers, 26 of them by poachers and in 2009 India lost 85 of the big cats, 32 killed by poachers this year so far. And some parks, like Sariska Tiger reserve in Rajasthan and Panna Tiger reserve in Madhya Pradesh, have been forced to admit that all of the big cats under their protection have disappeared
